Premier Studio Equipment, founded by Richard Schmit, a Filmmaker since 1972 and with a background in mechanical engineering, he has been designing and making camera dollies and other production equipment since 1975 for use on his and his colleague's projects.

In 1991, Mr. Schmit decided to devote full time to designing and manufacturing better and more cost effective production equipment, founding Premier Studio Equipment, Inc.

In just the first couple of years, Premier Studio Equipment had sold hundreds of dollies worldwide, and has set up a network of dealers in 7 countries to help better serve you.

Today, with our facilities in the Inland Empire, just east of Downtown Los Angeles, you can come in to our factory/showroom and try out our latest product or see how they're manufactured and assembled.

Manufacturing is done almost exclusively in our facilities to keep costs low. All of our parts are precision machined in our own machine shop.

We have also developed our own special process to fabricate dolly frames, which makes them not only the stongest and most rigid bodies possible for the material and weight, but has also increased theprecision while cutting down the amount of man hours needed to make them in the highly labor intensive welding and hand grinding processes.

With this developement, we are able to bring you high quality products at a very low cost. Something unavailable with our competitors.
